A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder - Princess of Wales Theatre May 25 - June 26, 2016

This musical is rich in humour and hi-jinx; it dazzles and had the audience chuckling throughout - 5 stars out of 5.  The national tour of "A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder" opened this week at the Princess of Wales Theatre.  The plot takes place in 1907 London based on the same novel that resulted in the film comedy "Kind Hearts and Coronets".  If you find out that although penniless you are a member of the very rich aristocratic family, the D'Ysquiths that refuse to accept you, the simple solution is to murder your relatives and move up the chain to become Lord of the manor.  The cast in this national touring company is spot on with Kevin Massey as Monty Navarro, knocking off his relatives with John Rapson playing the roles of the 8 D'Ysquiths that are dispatched one by one throughout this romp.  The book for this musical comedy is by Robert Freedman who picked up a Tony for Best Book in 2014.  The show won 3 other Tonys including Best Musical with music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak.  "A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder" continues its Toronto run until June 26th.
