Music from Broadway, Hollywood & the London stage
Come From Away - Restored Royal Alexandra Theatre till January 8th 2017
This musical received an instant standing ovation and currently is the hardest ticket to get in Toronto. The show runs about 210 minutes with no intermission (almost 2 hours) but you would know it. It is one of the most exciting shows I have seen in years and resonates with everyone as it is the result of 9/11 and the closing of U.S. airways. The result was that planes arriving from Europe had to land in Canada in Newfoundland such as the airport at Gander. The music and characters are such that the audience immediately identifies with. This show which is fully Canadian has been tested out in 3 U.S. cities as the show refers to Canadian culture and traditions. It passed with flying colours and is booked to open on Broadway in 2017. The tragedy for us here in Toronto is that the run is basically sold out. There are tickets to be had but the situation demonstrates we have a winner and I predict eventually a Tony Winning musical. Hope you can get a ticket...this show is definitely a winner!
